Who We Are
The St. Moritz Cultural Foundation is dedicated to the long-term promotion of cultural life in St. Moritz. As a bridge between tradition and contemporary creativity, we support local artists, institutions, and projects that preserve cultural heritage while also providing new inspiration.
We provide financial contributions to locally relevant projects, outstanding endeavors, new initiatives, and individuals with exceptional talent. Upon request, we also assist with administrative and organizational matters and offer guidance on artistic issues. Furthermore, we support the development and implementation of ideas. Where we identify potential or a need for action, we also initiate and carry out our own projects.
Our goal is to sustainably strengthen and bring to life the cultural variety and unique diversity in St. Moritz.
We are particularly committed to promoting cultural expression in all its forms: We make art and culture visible and accessible—from music and literature to the visual arts, theater, film, and living traditions. In this way, we actively contribute to a vibrant, open, and inspiring cultural climate in St. Moritz.
How did this come about?
Cultural funding in St. Moritz was originally organized within the municipality, specifically through the Cultural Commission, which made decisions regarding funding for local projects, as well as, to some extent, through the tourism sector. With the founding of St. Moritz Tourismus AG, tourism and brand management were consolidated into a unified structure.
As things developed further, it became clear that a clear separation of responsibilities made sense: While the tourism organization remains responsible for internationally oriented and tourism-related events, local culture needs its own platform.
For this reason, the St. Moritz Cultural Foundation was established in 2025. It specifically supports local and regional cultural projects and strengthens the diverse cultural life in St. Moritz and the Upper Engadine.
